​ACCESS

MOTOR GATES​ AND SMART LOCKS

  • Guests must download and register on the Yale Home App prior to  arrival and make sure that Bluetooth is ON and remains on during their stay.

  • Yale Home App is downloadable from both Android Play store and Apple IOS.

  • Once at The Village Inn gates/doors please use the Yale Home App to tap on the relevant named icons - (West Gate OR East Gate for auto motor access , Pedestrian Street Gate, Front Security Gate, Front Wooden Door, Room). Motor and security gates will close and lock behind you.

  • Your phone or device is essentially your key, so please keep it with you to gain access.

GENERAL

​​

  • By accessing our website and by booking accommodation with The Village Inn (herein onwards referred to as TVI), whether it is done directly or through any other booking platform, you agree to accept, without limitation or criterion, all these terms and conditions of use and are expected to comply with TVI Terms & conditions.

  • All persons entering the premises do so entirely at their own risk.

  • Guests acknowledge that, as a self stay accommodation offering, TVI does not have a permanent staff member on site at the premises and guests are required to download and register a profile on the Yale Home app on their mobile device prior to arrival and use the instructions sent on the booking app (Airbnb)  for access and egress of the property.

  • The Village Inn operates on a self-catering, self accessed  basis and does not provide on-demand services. Upon request, should we at TVI be able to assist in arranging additional services including, but not limited to, personal laundry services, housekeeping, provision of food or meals, transport services, TVI is not responsible nor liable for such services when offered or arranged between the guest and the aforementioned  service provider.

  • We at TVI, reserve the right to refuse a guest access, entry and accommodation if, at any time, we reasonably consider that the guest is under the influence of illegal substances,  is behaving in a threatening, abusive, or otherwise unacceptable manner on the premises and or towards other guests or occupants.

 

RATES

​

  • Rates are quoted per entire Inn (Inn consisting of four bedrooms) or per bedroom, per night (or per weekly or monthly stay as per booking) in South African Rands. Rates are inclusive of VAT, and are subject to change without prior notice.

  • All accommodation must be paid for prior to arrival.

  • Payment is not accepted on the premises.

  • Cash payment not accepted.

  • All bookings are subject to an e-mailed, website or in-app (Airbnb) confirmation.

  • We, at TVI reserve the right to amend rates at any time and without notice.

 

DEPOSIT

​

  • Full payment required at the time of booking. No deposits applicable.

 

PAYMENT

​

  • On-line Credit card payments via our online or in app booking system.

  • Cash payments are not accepted.

  • Payment for accommodation or any other services offered or arranged by TVI are not accepted on the premises at TVI.

 

CANCELLATION POLICY

​

  • In the event that a booking is cancelled by guests for any reason, the following will apply:

  • Cancellation before 14 days before arrival - 100% refund

  • Cancellation between 7 and 14 days before arrival – Guests forfeit 50% of full booking rate, inclusive off fees. Thereafter, no refund.

  • No Show / Early Departure – Guests forfeit 100% of the full booking rate including associated fees.

  • Changing dates can be done 48 hours prior to origional arrival date with no penalty. After 48 hours a penalty of the rate of the first night will be charged.

  • Refunds, where granted will be effected within 15 days from request or cancellation.

 

EXTENSION

​

  • Any extension of stay will be strictly subject to availability at the time of request and is not guaranteed.

  • Guests are advised to notify TVI as early as possible of any intended extension period.

  • We will endeavour to accommodate guests' extension requests, which may result in a change of room.

 

EARLY DEPARTURE

​

  • Should guests depart prior to the departure date, refunds are not entitled. Refunds, where granted will be effected within 15 days from request.

  • Refunds are assessed and are pending at the time of notifying TVI of guest's intended departure.

  • Should we, at TVI, be notified on the same day of the intended departure, guests forfeit that night’s rate.

 

BOOKINGS​

  • Guests must be 18 and older to make a reservation at TVI.

  • Children are welcome, but there must be at least one adult (18+) accompanying the minor child.

  • Should any keys be provided to a guest for the period of their stay at TVI, keys must be returned / replaced prior to departure, penalties will apply.

  • Maximum of 2 guests permitted per bedroom.

  • Room selections are made online at the time of booking, and are allocated by TVI, unless guest have indicated a preference for a particular room, but may be changed by TVI should it become necessary. Guest will be notified.

  • Guests are required to present confirmation of reservation and identification to TVI management, if requested to do so during their stay.

 

CHECK IN & CHECK OUT

​

  • Check in time is strictly from 2pm (14h00),  unless arranged otherwise.

  • Early arrival may be possible. But must be requested at least 24 hours prior to arrival and is subject to availability.

  • No check in is permitted after 6pm (18h00) unless arranged otherwise.

  • Check out time on departure day is no later than 10am (10h00), unless prior arrangements have been made with TVI to effect a later departure time.

  • Late departures after 10am (10h00) are subject to availability and confirmation from TVI management.

 

ROOM ALLOCATIONS​

  • Room allocations are done at the time of booking online or via the booking platform, on an individual room basis, requests to change rooms will be entertained by TVI, where reasonably possible.

  • TVI will send a guest booking form to the primary booker which will be filled in with all guest details and returned to TVI at least 24 hours prior to arrival.

  • TVI reserves the right to change an allocated room prior to guest  check-in, without notice, due to whatsoever reason is reasonably applicable.

 

LIABILTY & DAMAGES

​

  • The owner, its agents and/or employees of The Village Inn (TVI) are not liable for:

  • Any loss or damage to the property or possessions of any guest, resident, or visitor, whether such damage was caused by fire, theft or otherwise, or by negligence or the wrongful act, or omission, of the owner, its agents and/or employees.

  • The death of or any personal injuries of whatsoever nature sustained by a guest, resident, or visitor, whether such death or injuries were sustained by the negligence or the wrongful act, or omission, of the owner, its agents and/or employee and/or the defective functioning of any equipment or apparatus.

  • In the event of whatsoever damage being caused by guests to the building, room and common areas, the guest will be held liable for the cost of repairs and TVI reserve their right to claim damages from the guest.

  • Guests will be liable for any loss/breakage/damages to appliances, kitchenware, and furniture (incl linen) in the apartment.

  • All persons entering the premises (The Village Inn, situated at 30 Firwood Avenue, Hazelwood, 0081) do so entirely at their own risk.

  • Should any personal items be left behind after check out, they will be kept for 30 days. If not claimed within 30 days, the item/s will be either donated or disposed of.

 

PARKING

​

  • Each room has only one parking bay allocated  for use.

  • Parking is onsite within the secure perimeter area of TVI.

  • Parking is used at guest's own risk.

 

THE USAGE AND HOUSE RULES

​

  • Please do not remove any items belonging to TVI from the room or house (including linen, towels, remotes, kitchenware).

  • All appliances are checked regularly and left in good working condition. Guests are asked to inform TVI as soon as possible should anything be faulty or if there are any breakages and/or damages to kitchenware, and furniture (incl linen) in the apartment.

  • Guests are liable and may be charged for any missing inventory items. We reserve the right to charge guests the cost of replacing any items that are removed from the premises by them without consent. The charge will be the full replacement amount of the missing item, including any carriage charges. Should the fact that the item is missing come to light after the guest has departed, we reserve the right to make a charge to the guest’s credit / debit card or send an invoice for the amount.

  • Booking accommodation with  TVI, whether  directly or through any other booking platform, for the purpose of hosting a party is not allowed. Should management receive a complaint from other residents about noise levels, management will facilitate the immediate checkout of the party in breach, without a refund. No parties are allowed on the premises, nor any additional guests for overnight stays.

  • This is a non-smoking environment. Smoking is not permitted in rooms or anywhere in the house, common areas or entrance.

  • No candles or incense and/or any form of burning items (including Hookah/Hubbly) are allowed in the house.

  • No pets are permitted.

  • When leaving the room or house please make sure all lights, air conditioner and appliances are switched off. Kindly ensure all doors, including doors in shared areas, are locked.

GOVERNING LAW AND JURISDICTION

​

  • This website, its content, and any transactions conducted through it are governed by the laws of South Africa. By using this website, you agree that any disputes arising in connection with its use or the services provided will fall under the jurisdiction of the courts of South Africa.
